How wind power can benefit from flexibility possibilities?

On December 8th Enerim participated in Fingrid’s discussion on the possibilities of wind power in the reserve market.

While the need for various reserves and control capability increases, the earning opportunities in the reserve market grow.

The utilisation of wind power in the reserve market has been limited relative to its overall potential, even though the conditions are excellent. The response times are quick, and the technical implementation is relatively straightforward. Participation in selected reserve markets is an uncomplicated process and, as a service provider Enerim can take care of most of the practical implementation.

For example, the first step may be to join a regulating power market, mFRR (down) or aFRR (down), in which case commercial production isn’t restricted. Later, it is worthwhile mapping out the prerequisites for participating in other markets as well.
